1 Locate Corinth on a map. Merchant ships off-loaded
at the isthmus of Corinth to avoid the treacherous sail around the
coast of Achaia. Home of the Isthmian games (similar to Olympics),
Corinth was also noted for its wickedness. Note the Paul’s list of
wickedness gives in I Cor 6:9-11.
Aphrodite was its goddess, whose temple was on the
Acropolis with its sacred prostitutes.
