On Saturday, March 24, 2007, Messiah's male cooking contestants were
judged on their favorite recipes. The project was led by Judy Kettner,
with 75 people in attendance.
The recipes were judged totally by tasters' votes: tickets were
placed in a cup beside the cooked items. This blind taste-test method
guaranteed that each of the winning entries was judged on taste alone
since no one knew who cooked each dish!
- Third Prize was won by Dave Ernst for his "Crab Gumbo with
Rice".
- Second Prize was won by one of our fine young men, Mitchell
Denkins, for his original recipe "NOT YOUR MAMA'S MEATLOAF."
- First Prize went to Ken Deal for his "Apple Fritters",
which disappeared so fast that many voters were denied a taste!
OUR MEN ARE GREAT COOKS, and such great fellowship was enjoyed that
there is talk of making it an annual event!
KUDOS to Judy Kettner!

Operation Christmas Child
Messiah's ladies filled 54 shoeboxes, gender and age
specific, for indigent children in Third World Countries. We had
great fellowship and filled 54 boxes!
